Summer family fun
August 1 @ 10:00 am - August 31 @ 4:00 pm
Truro’s new visitor attraction will be bursting with activities this summer. You can try the Virtual Reality Disaster Challenge everyday during August*, as well as enjoying packing ShelterBoxes and exploring the interactive displays and exhibition.
During August look out for brand new family events:
Take on the challenge of answering some of the big questions faced by ShelterBox Response Teams who are sent to disaster zones. Real life heroes – our Response Team Members – will be on hand to talk you through decision making and share their stories of deployments around the world. This family friendly activity will get your brains whirring as you work together – there’s no wrong answers, just different outcomes. Every Tuesday in August.
Do you know the difference between a hurricane and a typhoon? What exactly is a tornado? Visit ShelterBox on this summer to dive into the world of wild weather, and have a go at presenting a weather forecast. You can make your very own rain gauge to take home – fingers crossed they won’t be full until September. Every Wednesday in August.
Look out for special ShelterBox rocks around Truro this summer – if you’re lucky enough to find one, bring it to the Visitor Centre to swap it for a prize. Then it’s time to get crafty and create your own ShelterBox rocks – let’s see if you can get them hidden all around the UK. Thursdays in August.
